In March, Xiaomi launched the Mi Mix Fold - its first device with a foldable display. But while a few companies went for the clamshell form factor next, that might not be the case for Xiaomi. In fact, the company seems to be developing a rollable device.

It was first rumoured in December that Xiaomi has been working on a rollable phone. According to MySmartPrice, Xiaomi is working on a rollable device that's similar to the OPPO X 2021. However, it doesn't just roll out in one direction. Instead, the device can allegedly extend out in two directions. When not extended, the excess of the display is wrapped around the back of the device.

Besides the rollable display, the patent also shows us a few possible features for the device. As you can see, the so-called Mi Mix Roll has a triple-camera setup at the back, right in the middle. It also has two speakers and a USB-C connector at the bottom, as well as the SIM tray on top.

Of course, patents are usually proofs of concept, so Xiaomi's rollable device could end up with a different design and features. Still, what do you think of it so far? Let us know in the comments, and stay tuned to TechNave for more news like this.
