At the Apple Event, Apple usually doesn't disclose what are the charging speeds for the new iPhones and we usually have to find it out by ourselves. Today, ShrimpApplePro discovered a new certification in China showing the official charging speeds.

According to the certification from the China Quality Certification Centre, it shows all the iPhone 16 models use 5-15 volts and 3 amps. In other words, all the new models have a fast charging speed of up to 45W, which is 50% faster than the predecessors. Previously, Apple stated that the iPhone 15 series could be charged with a 20W USB C adapter but it can go over 25W, nearing 30W at max.

In case you missed the news, the iPhone 16 series has a wireless charging speed of up to 25W but only when paired with the right MagSafe power adapter. For new iPhone customers, we recommend getting third-party USB C chargers such as Ugreen, Baseus, Aukey and Anker because original Apple USB C ones are very expensive (e.g. a 20W charger by Apple is RM99).

That being said, we actually made an article about that years ago when Apple decided to take the chargers away from the box for the iPhone 12 lineup. You can check it out right over here.
