It's been some time since Xiaomi launched the Redmi K30 series, but it looks like the next iteration is already in the works. Recently, a new Xiaomi device that's believed to the be Redmi K40 was spotted on China's 3C and MIIT. In particular, the MIIT cert shows that it's a 5G device.

According to GSMArena (via MySmartPrice), the certifications are for a Xiaomi device bearing the model number M2006J10C. Not much is revealed in the certifications, but the 3C cert shows that this device shares the same MDY-11-EX (33W fast-charging) that the Redmi K30 Pro has. The MIIT cert also reveals that the device is a 5G device.

Based on the info above, it's speculated that the device could be the Redmi K40. The logic here is that Xiaomi would want to bring the K30 Pro's model to the standard model of the Redmi K40 series and provide an even better charger to K40 Pro model. As for the 5G chipset to be used here, it's rumoured that Xiaomi will go with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 775, which is expected to be announced soon.

Mind you, Xiaomi has yet to confirm if this is indeed the Redmi K40, so don't take our word for it. Of course, we'll be keeping an eye out for any updates and will report on them as soon as we can. Till then, do stay tuned to TechNave.com for other news!
