As we reported yesterday, it was announced that the Nintendo Switch 2 will indeed arrive in Malaysia on 3 July 2025. Official prices weren't yet clear at the time, as the Nintendo Malaysia website did not list them. However, the official Nintendo distributor, Convergent Distribution Malaysia, and other local authorised retailers have since listed them.
The Switch 2 Hardware (in RM)
Unlike the Hong Kong sets that arrived earlier, the official Nintendo Switch 2 standalone console is RM2488, as opposed to RM2499 like the former. Of course, there is also the Switch 2 + Mario Kart World Bundle, which includes the Mario Kart World Game card at RM2688.
Interestingly, the Nintendo Official Store on Shopee seems to prioritise the bundle set more. It lists 289 units available, while the standard version has only 49 units. We can assume the same thing on the Lazada platform, although the store there did not show any number of units available.
The Switch 2 Games (in RM)
Joining the pre-order as the Switch 2 launch title game is none other than Mario Kart World. We knew it was going to be expensive, but this is almost unbelievable. It might as well be the most expensive video game in Malaysia, at a price of RM398.
Besides Mario Kart World, other Switch 2 Editions are launching alongside as well. These include:

- The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Nintendo Switch 2 Edition – RM298

Is the Switch 2 Worth Buying?
At first glance, and given the ongoing tough economic times, we think this will put off most Malaysian gamers, but at the same time, we won't be surprised if the Switch 2 consoles get sold out. After all, Nintendo does have great quality games, and it has the fan base support.
Getting the Switch 2 + Mario Kart World Bundle would make the most sense since it will be just a RM200 top-up instead of getting the video game separately for almost RM400. Anyway, for more information, you may head to the Nintendo Official Stores below to get started:
