Nokia Confirms 16-lens array camera and dual-SIM for Next-gen Lumias?

Nokia Pelican Imaging Confirmed.jpg

A recent interview with Jo Harlow, Executive VP from Nokia may have confirmed that we will soon see Lytro-like cameras in Nokia's Cameraphones. In our earlier articles regarding Pelican Imaging's 16-lens array camera Nokia's involvement with the company hinted that they may use it, this interview just confirms it. While the interview was more about computational photography, it also dropped hints that we may soon see dual-SIM Nokia Lumia smartphones as well.

No news about availability but with Pelican Imaging stating that the technology would only be ready within the year, we're expecting such 16-lens array cameras in Nokia Lumias next year in 2014. Since the Nokia EOS will probably reach us this year in 2013, it seems rather unlikely that we'll see such technology implemented there. Dual-SIM Nokia Lumias are more likely to appear first, especially since Dual-SIM seems to be important in major markets where Nokia is a big name like India.
