Last week, the tech specs for a new 5G OPPO device was found on Geekbench and TENAA. It was evident that this new OPPO A72 5G would be coming soon, but it looks like OPPO wanted to reveal it early. Yesterday, the new phone was quietly listed on OPPO China's online store with a retail price of 1899 yuan (~RM1154).

As you can see from the shop listing, the OPPO A72 5G comes in a single model and variant. It comes with a MediaTek Dimensity 720 5G chipset, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of internal storage. Also, the phone has a 6.5-inch Full HD+ display that has up to 90Hz of refresh rate, so you can enjoy smoother visuals. Besides that, this smartphone has a 4040mAh battery and a triple rear camera (16MP+8MP+2MP).

Overall, the tech specs for this phone is quite different from the 4G model announced in April. The standard OPPO A72 has a Snapdragon 665 chipset, 4GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage. Its display only has a refresh rate of 60Hz but it has a larger 5000mAh battery, as well as an additional 2MP macro lens and a superior 48MP main camera.

If you consider the price, the OPPO A72 5G could be a good option if you want to get a 5G device for the future. Of course, 5G isn't widespread in Malaysia yet so it might be pointless for now. With that being the case, would you still buy this if it's launched in Malaysia? Let us know on our Facebook page and stay tuned to TechNave.com for more news like this.
