The OPPO F9 will be unveiled soon this week and while we do know some tidbits about it such as the new Waterdrop notch design, a 16MP + 2MP dual rear camera, a diamond cut back-look and more. Aside from that, OPPO Malaysia is also letting us know about the new ColorOS 5.2 update and it will have several new features.

So what are the new features? According to OPPO Malaysia, it will have Google Lens, Smartbar, Music On Display and also a video editing user interface (wooo). It should be noted that this will be the first time for the F-series to feature Google Lens and in case you have no idea what it does, it's able to identify objects or place and provide results online without having to leave the camera app. In other words, after you use Google Lens to snap a picture, the phone will then list down the details of the item including history, reviews and other information.

Moving on, the Music On Display will let users play videos and it can even run in the background. That's right, you get to actually listen YouTube even if the phone is in lock mode. Moreover, the ColorOS 5.2 allows users to edit videos too with multiple segments or clips with their own software, as well as becoming a boombox by connecting with other F9 devices with Music Party, and there will be a new Smartbar look allowing users to reply texts and calls without closing the app.

The OPPO F9 will be available in Sunrise Red and Midnight Blue and will run on MediaTek Helio P60 chipset. Stay tuned as we will be covering the launch this Thursday at TechNave.com.
