OnePlus’ first-ever foldable, the OnePlus Open made its debut yesterday with some impressive specs, including dual screens with a whopping 2800 nits peak brightness. Well, it looks like the company ain’t resting on its laurels as today, OnePlus, together with sister company OPPO and BOE are releasing a new 3000 nits smartphone display.

Taking to its official Weibo account, OnePlus announced that the 3 companies will hold an event on 25 October in China to unveil the new panel. Of course, since BOE is the only display manufacturer out of the 3, the ultra-bright panels are made by the company.

While no further details were revealed in the Weibo post other than the event would be a “historic moment”, the panel’s specs were previously leaked by Digital Chat Station. The tipster claimed that the display will have 3000 nits peak brightness and a 1440p resolution.

Furthermore, he also said that a 1220p panel by the collaboration will even surpass the 3000 nits threshold. Crazy!
