Flexible smartphones are getting more popular these days and more smartphone companies are trying to produce at least one foldable device for their brand. We’ve seen the rollable concept smartphone from OPPO a while ago, today, the company has just filed a new patent for a rollable phone.
Based on the patent from the source, this time the new OPPO rollable phone has a square shape rather than the rectangular expandable rollout display. Instead of rolling out sideways, this new rollable phone will have a square state, and when it rolls out, it will become a full rectangular standard size smartphone. You can do some basic tasks and reply to messages while the phone is rolled up.
Compared to other expandable smartphones, OPPO designed this to give you enough functionality when the phone is rolled up and turned back to a full phone size when you really need some extra workloads. Other than OPPO, Google has canceled its foldable phone this year.
As of now, there’s still no official confirmation on the official release date and tech specs for it as this is only still patent images, So do keep an eye for the upcoming news and stay tuned for more tech news updates on TechNave.com
