Previously, we reported on the world’s first 300W charging, which was developed and released by Redmi. Now, it looks like Redmi may have some competition as OPPO is also reportedly developing the same charging speed.

Revealed by reliable tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the 300W charging will also utilise OPPO’s SUPERVOOC charging branding found.  Furthermore, the charging technology will allegedly employ a special 2220 and 2230mAh 15C system high-rated batteries for a combined 4600mAh equivalent capacity.

Given that there’s already 300W charging out there with Redmi’s offering, we should have a rough idea of how fast it would be. In Redmi’s version, the Redmi Note 12 Explorer Edition was used for testing, with the device’s 4100mAh being fully recharged from 0 per cent in just 5 minutes.

Of course, do take this with a grain of salt as nothing is confirmed as of yet. Nevertheless, with companies racing to outdo each other, it’s definitely exciting times for the industry!
