A few days ago on Twitter, OPPO themselves showcased what they have been working on back in China by recording a short clip of an under-display selfie camera. That's truly exciting and it gets better, the company has announced that they will at the MWC 2019 Shanghai and very likely to show off this new technology.

How did they manage to do that? Well, the OPPO engineers didn't explain much but they didn't really have to do much to hide the front camera under the screen, the only change is how the display appears when the front camera mode is enabled. With that, the front camera area can be touch normally and we assume that for this to happen, the front camera cannot be directly under the display, but just slightly deeper underneath the surface.
