As part of the first quarter of the year, the Mobile World Congress is held in Barcelona, Spain annually and most of the smartphone brands will definitely be there to show off what they have in store for us, such as OPPO's upcoming flagship for the first time in MWC 2019. We don't exactly know what is the phone's name, but we do have some key takeaways on the new unknown flagship from OPPO Malaysia so here's what we know so far.

10x Lossless Zoom Technology on a triple camera setup

Wait, didn't OPPO already introduced that before? Well, yes and no. They actually did something similar two years ago in MWC 2017. At that time, the group showcased a 5x Dual Camera Zoom technology where it involved a periscope-style structure where it helps to divert light through a prism to a telephoto lens. But this time around, the periscope structure has been improved (at least that's what it looks like in the image) and it's able to achieve 10x lossless zoom.

We also know that there will be a triple camera setup that comprises of the "ultra-clear" master camera, ultra wide-angle camera and the telephoto lens as the last one. Moreover, there is an Optical Image Stabilization for both the master camera and telephoto camera each. We have no idea what are the megapixels, but if we had to throw a wild guess - maybe it's a 20MP + 12MP + 8MP combo.

A new wide zone optical fingerprint recognition technology

Now that's a new long name for a technology. So anyway, what it basically means is that the phone will have a much larger fingerprint sensor area. How big? According to OPPO, it's 15x larger than the current version and even integrated a two-finger unlocking feature to ensure a much safer and tighter biometric security. That said, having a two-fingerprint sensor can offer a lot of potential to domain encryption or lighting up the front display just to see the notifications with just one touch.

And in the final pointer, OPPO went as far as claiming the flagship is pretty tough, being able to withstand 28,000 times of drops in 2 rounds. It's currently now in mass production and will be commercially available this year. Stay tuned for more OPPO news at TechNave.com!
