Just over the weekend, there were rumours about ASUS shutting down its Zenfone department and the Zenfone 10 was reportedly the last one in the series. Well, turns out that it's not true at all and ASUS just released a statement regarding this fake news.

At ASUS' newsroom page, the company simply wrote:

"We would like to address the rumor that ASUS Zenfone 10 will be the last generation of the series and the ASUS Zenfone product line will be shut down. This is not true. We will continue our two main phone business product lines, the ROG Phone and the Zenfone. ASUS has a strong commitment to our smartphone business and customers. Please reference our Q2 earnings call for more information. Please stay tuned for our 2024 product lineups."

The Zenfone 10 was revealed back at the end of June and there's still no word if it will make it to Malaysia. To recap the tech specs, it features a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. It's still marketed as a compact phone, using a 5.9-inch FHD+ 144Hz AMOLED display, alongside a 4300mAh battery with 30W fast charging technology. Additionally, it has a 32MP front camera, a 50MP primary camera and a 13MP ultrawide camera.

The Zenfone 10 also has more colour variants than before, coming in Aurora Green, Eclipse Red, and Starry Blue as well as the classic Midnight Black and Comet White. Sources reported that there will be a 16GB + 512GB variant too in the future but we shall wait and see.
