With the launch of the Redmi K60 series last Tuesday (27 December 2022), the Xiaomi subsidiary also launched several official accessories for the smartphone lineup. These include a cooling case which is touted to be able to, well, cool the device by up to 4 degrees Celsius.
According to GizmoChina, the official accessory by Redmi was released yesterday (30 December 2022) and may use the same-segment heat technology that’s embedded inside the K60 series. Moreover, the temperature of the new phase composite material is changed from solid to liquid dual stat, thus dissipating heat.
Photos and details of the cooling case were previously shared by a digital blogger on Weibo last Thursday, which revealed its silver colour and unique design full of vents. According to the post, after an hour of testing thanks to its ice-sensing heat protection cover, it actually cooled down quickly by 4 degrees Celsius.
In China, the K60 cooling case is available for purchase at Xiaomi Mall and is priced at CNY79 or ~RM50. As of the time of writing, Redmi has yet to reveal whether the K60 series and its official accessories will be sold in other regions outside China, though the series has been rumoured to be rebranded as the POCO F5 Pro for the global market.
