Recently, we mentioned the release of OnePlus 12 and OnePlus 12R. Upon further inspection, someone found interesting specs regarding gaming and the refresh rate of the phone. So, what should you know about it?

OnePlus 12 was launched for the global market last night. The device runs OxygenOS 14 based on Android 14 with Trinity Engine which can improve performance, graphic quality, and smoother touch. It can also offer upgrades to CPU, RAM and internal storage.

In addition, the Trinity Engine is the HyperRenderring feature that can force all scenes to be played at 120FPS. This feature is made possible by the Pixeworks X7 chip. OnePlus uses a frame interpolation method on a TV screen to make the displayed content smoother.

Moreover, OnePlus 12 users can also enjoy an HDR colour display for all games played on this device. So far, not many Android devices have supported high frame rates. The OnePlus 8 used to partner with Fortnite for 90FPS support but that was exclusive to the game.

To recap, the phone features a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, two memory configurations - 12GB + 256GB and 16GB + 512GB, and a dual-cell 2700mAh battery pack (making it a total of 5400mAh). Meanwhile, the 12R is still using the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and only comes in 16GB + 256GB configuration and a dual-cell 2750mAh battery pack (5500mAh). Both have 100W SUPERVOOC charging speed but the OnePlus 12 has an extra 50W AIRVOOC wireless charging.

If you are interested, the phone will be available in Malaysia from 3 February 2024 at RM4599. You might want to save up for it. Who knows? That could be your next phone.
