Originally, OnePlus was to unveil its first foldable device on 29 August 2023. But the global launch of the OnePlus Open might have been postponed to a later date. Sources familiar with the subject claimed that it was due to a change in production.
According to Max Jambor, the OnePlus Open was supposed to feature a screen from BOE Display. However, OnePlus allegedly decided to switch to Samsung panels. While it wasn't specific, we can probably assume both the primary and cover displays will be from Samsung.

Fortunately, the sizes of the screens are unlikely to change. In other words, the OnePlus Open should still sport a 7.8-inch foldable display and a 6.3-inch cover display. Both will have a 120Hz refresh rate, but we can expect a higher max brightness and wider colour gamut.
It's unknown why OnePlus decided to switch. OnePlus could have done this to have better screens, or perhaps there were supply issues on BOE Display's side. That's just our speculation, however, so quote us on it.
But what do you think? Is there a specific reason for OnePlus to switch to Samsung displays? Share your thoughts in the comments, and stay tuned to TechNave for more news about the OnePlus Open.
