In case you didn't know, Qualcomm will unveil a new chipset at the end of this month. Its annual Snapdragon Summit will be held from 22-24 October 2024 and we are expected to see a new Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 or Snapdragon 8 Elite, according to rumours.
The new Snapdragon flagship will no doubt be powerful and it seems that OnePlus will be one of the early adopters. In fact, an employee from OnePlus, known as Cai Zuxuan believes that it can beat Apple's A18 Pro chip and make the OnePlus 13 the most powerful phone soon. He posted on his Weibo account that the company has "finished running all the energy efficiency data internally".
This is in line with our previous news report, in which sources say the OnePlus 13 could have a Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 Extreme Edition. This is an overclocked variant that will boost the CPU's single-core performance speeds. The CPU's architecture is known as Oryon and Qualcomm first launched it with the Snapdragon X Elite. It is found in some laptops that were launched this year.
Besides OnePlus, other Android brands are preparing to launch theirs with the new Snapdragon chipset as well. This includes HONOR which has confirmed its Magic 7 series launch on 30 October 2024, as well as the Xiaomi 15 and iQOO 13 series.
