In March, OnePlus announced it would release a new flagship foldable device in Q3 2023. And now that it's July, some news has leaked through the cracks. For instance, we now have a name for the device and possibly the UI details.

According to Max Jambor, the OnePlus foldable phone will be called the OnePlus Open. He pointed out that the name was patented in Europe (via the EUIPO) in April. That means the product name is likely accurate. It also gives it a refreshing feel, as it's different from the typical Brand name + Fold naming convention.

There's also a rumour about the phone's UI. Tipster SnoopyTech suggested that the device would use a customised OxygenOS called OxygenOS Fold. Since OxygenOS is more or less a variant of ColorOS these days, expect the OxygenOS Fold to be similar to the OPPO Find N2's ColorOS Fold. In that case, we can expect features like FlexForm.

Of course, we should still see features or customisations exclusive to OnePlus devices. Whatever the case, we'll find out when the OnePlus Open launches sometime in August 2023.
