The OnePlus 8 series will be unveiled pretty soon next week and as always, the OnePlus team are giving us some new updates on their official forums. According to Evan, a member of the Global Product Team, the company is proud to announce a new Warp Charge 30 Wireless which is able to charge up to 30W output.

On paper, the Warp Charge 30 Wireless can charge up a smartphone (with wireless capability) from 1% to 50% in just 30 minutes. One might think that this new powerful wireless charging tech might be too dangerous, but how OnePlus did it was combining an isolated charge pump with Warp wireless direct charging architecture. This is so that the charging pump can ensure its charging efficiency (97%) and minimizing the heat converted by the amount of energy at the same time.

For safety, OnePlus also integrated a kill switch-like function which will deactivate the charging if it detects any abnormal voltages. There is also a customized chip on the OnePlus 8 series (not confirmed, but they are hinting it) that communicates with the wireless charger by controlling the flow of charging current. Insane right? Normally, even normal cable chargers have yet to normalize that kind of charging speed.

Moreover, OnePlus will not limit their smartphones to the new Warp Charge 30 Wireless only. If you have another Qi wireless charger (5W or more), the OnePlus 8 series smartphones are also compatible. Even better, if your Qi wireless charger is 10W, then your OnePlus phone will also follow suit.

So what do you think? I feel like buying one now so badly. By the way, OPPO's own wireless charger just got certified and it looks good too. Let us know in our Facebook page and stay tuned for more trending tech news at TechNave.com.
