OnePlus teased its Concept one design which is hinted to be another McLaren Edition with disappearing cameras earlier this month. Today, OnePlus has officially unveiled the Concept One with its disappearing rear cameras and body wrapped in McLaren’s signature Papaya Orange colored leather.

The main highlight of it will be the disappearing cameras behind the protected glass. As the camera sensors are hidden until it is activated with the aid of electrochromic glass. It can turn the glass from opaque to transparent when the camera is activated and switch it back to opaque to hide the cameras.

This concept was inspired by McLaren’s sports cars which turn the sunroof opaque to block out the sun. In photography terms, the electrochromic glass serves as an ND filter for the cameras which was used to block excessive light on a camera lens to capture more details. OnePlus claimed that the switching between opaque and transparent will only be 0.7 seconds.

With this unique feature, it may become the next big thing for smartphone cameras in the near future. Let us know what you think about these disappearing cameras from the new OnePlus Concept One on our Facebook page and stay tuned to TechNave.com for more smartphone updates.
