Previously, we reported that the upcoming OnePlus 8T might not have a pro variant and depends on your view, it could be a good thing since the OnePlus Nord was released not too long ago. Now in this new report by XDA Developers, they spotted a new code inside the OxygenOS 11 beta program and it's hinting that there could be an 8K@960FPS video recording mode update soon.

That may be great news to mobile videographers, but not all the newer OnePlus models would get it according to sources. At the moment, the update in OxygenOS 11 is assigned for the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro model but it's weird because they don't have the hardware to support such feature. Referring back to the OnePlus 8 Pro's tech specs, it can only handle 8K@30FPS at best and not 960FPS for 8K, 4K, and 1080p video recording.

Since the current OnePlus 8 series hardware is not strong enough to handle 8K@960FPS, that could mean that this feature could be a preparation for next year's device, the OnePlus 9. But who knows, maybe the OnePlus 8T could surprise us that this feature. By the way, the OnePlus Buds Z was also mentioned in another code and we probably won't see the new wireless earbuds so soon.

OnePlus would usually release a T variant at this time of the year, so we will have to wait and see what they are up to. Until then, stay tuned for more trending tech news at TechNave.com.
