It was only two weeks ago that Sony unveiled the PlayStation 5 Pro (PS5 Pro). Initially, there wasn't any information about the Malaysian market but it's now updated. The PS5 Pro will launch in both Malaysia and Singapore on 7 November 2024.
The PS5 Pro pre-order will begin in two days from now. So on 26 September 2024, interested customers can get the pro version for RM3,849 at participating retailers. This includes the official Sony stores, All IT Hypermarket, Impulse Gaming, M4G, Tiny Robot, Urban Republic, TMT Thundermatch, Gamers' Hideout and many others. The complete list can be found here.
On the other hand, Singaporeans can get the PS5 Pro at SGD 1,069 on the same pre-order and launching date. Ironically, if you do the currency exchange rate math, it's actually cheaper to get one from Singapore since it's cheaper by around ~RM400. Anyway, most gamers online have voiced their discontent after learning the price.
In case you missed it, the PS5 Pro will offer three big upgrades for gamers - an upgraded GPU, advanced Ray Tracing and AI-driven upscaling. Long story short, the PS5 Pro will allow gamers to play video games in 4K resolution at 60FPS. Currently, gamers would have to choose between 4K 30FPS or performance mode at 60FPS.
