With so many of us still working from home these days, video calls continue to be a popular way for virtual meetings to be conducted. Remember how Canon released a utility tool to turn your camera into a webcam? Well, Panasonic has the same type of software now and it works on Lumix cameras.

As you may know, webcams don't have the best picture quality and basic ones tend to have visual lag. But with the beta version of the Lumix Tether for Streaming, you'll be able to use certain Lumix cameras as webcams. This includes the Lumix GH5, GH5S, G9, and S1 series. All you need to do is to install the software and hook up your Lumix camera via USB.

Technically, this software has been around as the Lumix Tether for some time, but the new version has some extra features that are designed for live streaming. According to Engadget, other people would be able to see things like focus points or menus in the previous version. With the new version, they'll just see what the camera sees. Doesn't sound like a big deal, but the former would be very awkward when you're doing video meetings.

If you have the Lumix cameras listed, do give the improved software a try. Also, what improvements or features would you like to see from software like these? Share your thoughts with us on our Facebook page and please stay tuned to TechNave.com for more news like these.
