Set to be “Malaysia’s most affordable EV”, Proton have announced that their slightly smaller EV or Electric Vehicle, the e.Mas 5 is for official booking on 4 October 2025. This will be kicked off from their Facebook page at social media at what some say will be below RM85K pricing.
Known Proton e.Mas 5 features and tech specs
Some of the known features include a dual-language Atlas operating system, a 14.6-inch FHD touchscreen display that supports Apple CarPly and Android Auto and dual tone vegan leather trim on the interior. The Proton e.Mas is set to come in 2 variants, the Premium with 325km WLTP range and the Prime with about 250km WLTP range.

The batteries will be lithium ion phosphate (LTP) from CATL unlike the Geely Geome Xingyuan it is based on, which uses blade batteries. If you didn’t know, the Proton e.Mas 7 uses blade batteries.
What do you think? If the Proton e.Mas 5 is sold at RM80K to RM85K would you order it? Given that the rumoured Perodua QV e-EM1 EV is expected to be priced in Malaysia for below RM80K and coming by the end of the year, would you be willing to wait? Proton EV vs Perodua EV?
