During the weekend, Proton New Energy Technology Sdn Bhd (PRO-NET), a wholly owned subsidiary of national automaker PROTON, officially opened bookings for the all-new Proton e.MAS 5, positioning it as Malaysia’s most affordable electric vehicle.

The announcement came during a high-energy livestream event held on 4 October 2025, where audiences got their first full look at the compact EV through live demonstrations, interactive sessions, and insights from motoring experts and lifestyle influencers. Over 572000 viewers tuned in across Proton e.MAS’ official social platforms and influencer channels are reflecting strong nationwide interest in the company’s latest EV push.

 

Estimated Price: RM60000 – RM80000

The biggest reveal of the night was the estimated pricing — between RM6000 and RM80000 — making the e.MAS 5 the most affordable EV in Malaysia. Early adopters can now book the e.MAS 5 for just RM99, and enjoy exclusive early bird perks including:

  • A limited-edition Proton e.MAS Touch ‘n Go NFC Card preloaded with RM100
  • An additional RM500 rebate on the booking fee
