The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip is not that far from us, as Qualcomm already announced that the next Snapdragon Summit will get held on 14 November. A reputable tipster is now letting us know what to expect before the next-gen flagship chip arrives, and it's regarding the improvement in energy efficiency.

As per IceUniverse, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 will offer 15% better energy efficiency than the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. With that said, the chip should allow the devices to get better battery life, or the companies can decrease the battery sizes a bit, therefore offering some lighter devices. Of course, the chip should also provide better thermals.

Since the chip will only get presented near the end of 2022, the first batch of smartphones should start to appear in Q1 2023. If the latest rumour turned out to be correct, the entire Galaxy S23 series, in every market, would utilize the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. It could be the Exynos 2200 ended up disappointing while being used inside the Galaxy S22, so Samsung has to do something to gain its customers' trust again.
