Today, Qualcomm and Xiaomi celebrate a milestone in their long-standing partnership, marking 15 years of collaboration with a newly signed multi-year agreement. The agreement underscores both companies' commitment to pushing the boundaries of innovation across smartphones, automotive, smart home, and wearable technology on a global scale.

Under the new agreement, Xiaomi will continue to use Qualcomm’s industry-leading Snapdragon 8-series chips in its premium smartphones, including upcoming devices in China and global markets. Xiaomi is also set to be among the first to adopt Qualcomm’s next-generation Snapdragon 8-series platform, launching later this year.

In addition, the companies have signalled a strong focus on driving AI innovation across edge devices. Future efforts will include the integration of on-device AI in smartphones, smart vehicles, augmented reality glasses, smartwatches, tablets, and beyond. As they enter a new phase of partnership, Qualcomm and Xiaomi reaffirm their shared goal of delivering transformative technology and exceptional user experiences across a growing ecosystem of smart devices.

The Qualcomm-Xiaomi collaboration dates back to the launch of the Xiaomi Mi 1 in 2011, and Snapdragon platforms have since powered millions of Xiaomi devices. Notably, the recent Xiaomi Mi 15 series, equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite, and in 2023, Xiaomi expanded into the automotive sector with the launch of its SU7 electric vehicle, powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Cockpit Platform and Snapdragon Auto 5G Modem-RF system.

Qualcomm’s Wi-Fi technology, including Wi-Fi 7, underpins Xiaomi’s latest smart home devices, offering faster and more reliable connectivity. The collaboration also extends into wearables, with devices like the Xiaomi Buds 5 Pro and Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro powered by Snapdragon’s S7 and W5+ Gen 1 platforms, respectively.
