Qualcomm is set to unveil its next-gen flagship mobile processor, the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, during the Snapdragon Summit in late September 2025. Well, the company is touted to debut another high-end chipset just below the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 during the event, so read on to find out more.
Qualcomm to debut a new ‘SM8845’ chipset in September 2025
According to GSMArena, which sourced the reliable tipster Digital Chat Station, the new chipset will sport the model number SM8845. For reference, the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 reportedly has the model number SM8850, which shows the tier at which the chipset will be in Qualcomm’s offerings.
The report added that the new chipset will be placed between Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 and Snapdragon 8s Gen 5, essentially being the second-highest tier SoC for the latest generation of mobile processors. Furthermore, the yet-to-be-named SM8845 SoC will feature performance on par with the Snapdragon 8 Elite.
