Today, ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) finally unveiled the all-new ROG Phone 7 series. As speculated, the ROG Phone 7 series includes the ROG Phone 7 and ROG Phone 7 Ultimate from a starting price of 999 Euros (~RM4,845). Here's everything you need to know.
Using the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform, it's paired with up to 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage. It's also equipped with WiFi 7 (802.11be) with Qualcomm FastConnect 7800, which can support ultrafast 320MHz channels and Multi-Link operation. Moreover, it also has Snapdragon Elite Gaming that enables ray tracing.
The ROG Phone 7 series uses a 165Hz Samsung AMOLED display with a 720Hz touch-sampling rate. The brightness increased to 1,500 nits and is tuned in collaboration with Pixelworks for colour accuracy. Additionally, the ROG Phone 7 Ultimate features ROG Vision, a unique matrix colour display on the rear of the phone. It showcases animations triggered by system events, such as charging status, incoming calls, X-Mode activation, and personalized animations.
Enhanced with a GameCool 7 thermal system to cool the CPU from all directions, mobile gamers can have long marathon sessions as long as they equip the AeroActive Cooler 7. In the ROG Phone 7 Ultimate, cooling is enhanced even further with the AeroActive Portal which can increase the thermal efficiency by up to 20%.
ROG also said there are new software features, such as X Sense helps gamers to detect key onscreen events. For example, if an important item or enemy appears, a notification will pop up. X Sense also adds visual effects depending on the occasion and then, there's also X Capture as an AI tool to record memorable moments automatically. The AirTrigger controls are back as well with various motion control gestures.
