For some, there's no such thing as overkill. But you might have to wait longer for the Red Magic 8S Pro and its 24GB RAM. Although the phone launched in China last week, the global launch is set for this month.
Earlier today, the nubia Red Magic global page started a countdown for the international launch of the Magic 8S Pro, which happens on 18 July 2023. At the time of writing, the page redirects Malaysians to the Red Magic Malaysia site with an error 404 message. That suggests our country wasn't included in the global launch date, so we might not get the phone on the same day. Last year's Red Magic 7S Pro launched here in Malaysia in October 2022, so maybe Red Magic Malaysia is going for another October launch.
As a reminder, the Red Magic 8S Pro will feature the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 2 chipset, 12GB of RAM, and 512GB of internal storage. It also has three 50MP cameras at the back, a 6.8-inch AMOLED display, and DTS:X Ultra Sound support. There's also a Red Magic 8S Pro+ model, which features incredible specs like 24GB RAM, 1TB storage, and 165W fast charging.
Regardless, nubia should reveal the local launch date soon, so expect some updates in the next week or so. Until then, stay tuned to TechNave for more news about gaming phones like this one.
