A few days ago, we've heard the news about the Redmi 9 will be featuring a MediaTek Helio G80 chipset and a 5,000mAh battery. It looks like we got one of them right as the device has been officially launched today. The new Redmi 9 will indeed come with the Helio G80 chipset and has a slightly larger 5,020mAh battery than expected.

Other than the tech specs mentioned above, the Redmi 9 will also sport a 6.53-inch LCD with Full HD+ resolution. It is a major upgrade from the previous HD+ resolution of the Redmi 8. The device will also be protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and Redmi claimed that it now has 89.83% screen-to-body ratio.

At the front, there will be an 8MP selfie camera with fixed focus sitting in a teardrop notch.

Furthermore, the 5,020 battery will be supporting 18W fast charging as well through a USB-C port, but you'll only get a 10W charger in the box. The device also has a 3.5mm audio jack which might be a thing you want very much. Other connectivity specs include Bluetooth 5.0, FM radio, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n at 2.4GHz. There is also NFC, but the availability might differ between markets. The Redmi 9 is sold at 149 Euro (~RM724) for the 3/32GB variant, while the 4/64GB unit will be sold at 179 Euro (~RM869).
