Are you looking for a new phone and want value for your money? Well, heads up because Xiaomi has launched its Redmi Note 13 series in Malaysia. It comes in four models with prices ranging from RM749 to RM1999.
Recently, Xiaomi Malaysia sent us two of these phones, so we took them out for a spin to get a feel for them. Below are a few highlights of the Redmi Note 13 series we think you should know!
Excellent value
In terms of hardware, Xiaomi has carefully chosen suitable parts for each Redmi Note 13 series smartphone. All four have a 1220×2712 resolution AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate for vibrant and smooth visuals. The Pro variants even come with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus, which makes them more durable.
Under the hood, the Redmi Note 13 series phones are powered by solid mid-range chipsets. While the standard Redmi Note 13 features the modest Snapdragon 685 chipset, the Redmi Note 13 5G has the more promising Dimensity 6080. On the other hand, the Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G and Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G feature the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 and Dimensity 7200-Ultra chipset, respectively.
Memory-wise, all four models would have 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The Redmi Note 13 has a 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant, ideal for those with simpler needs. However, the Pro+ 5G goes a step in the other direction by offering a 12GB RAM and 512GB storage variant. With these phones, you'll have no problems with casual daily use, gaming, or productivity tasks.

Besides the above, the Redmi Note 13 series supports charging speeds of up to 120W for the Pro+ 5G. Xiaomi will also include a charger in the box, so you won't have to worry about getting a new one.
Amazing 200MP camera
For cameras, the Redmi Note 13 series is just as impressive. Both standard variants feature a 108MP main camera, but the Pro models have a 200MP camera. They also have an 8MP ultra-wide angle and 2MP macro camera, which you may use for different shots.
200MP triple-camera
In our opinion, these phones take pretty good photos. They excel in portrait and close-up shoots the most, providing solid detail and vibrant colours. Overall, the Redmi Note 13 series offers excellent value for money, considering the camera quality you get for the price.
To give you a better idea of how the cameras performed, our TechNave team members took the two phones downtown to KL Starhill for some photo op. Here, check out some of the sample photos we took!
