Redmi Note 9T Geekbench listing shows it might have a MediaTek Dimensity 800U chipset instead

Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 9T (which could be released in Malaysia soon) apparently appeared on Geekbench rocking a MediaTek Dimensity 800U chipset, 4GB of RAM and 5G. Previously, it was expected to come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 chipset and up to 8GB of RAM which is a bummer but what can we do. Or it could be just the 4GB RAM 5G version only although it seems unlikely that we’d see both a 4G and 5G version at the same time.

Listed by @yabhishekhd, other tech specs and features listed just include Android 10, but the picture included seems to indicate a triple rear camera in a round camera hump. On the front there looks to be a punch hole front camera in the top left corner. The side inset seems to indicate a side fingerprint sensor as well, but it isn’t mentioned anywhere so take that with a pinch of salt.

Quite obviously there’s no Malaysia release dates or pricing details, but it is expected to arrive sometime in January 2021. We hope it will be below RM1K as many other Redmi Note smartphones but with the extra 5G it could go for around RM1.1K to RM1.3K. What do you think? Does having a MediaTek Dimensity 800U chipset change your buying decision or do you still plan to buy it when it comes out? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned to TechNave.com.
