Redmi X confirmed to release with ultrawide lens, NFC and 3.5mm jack, may have GPU overclocking

Don’t be fooled by the device’s name, though. The Redmi X is actually not the real name of the upcoming Snapdragon 855 device and is codenamed Raphael for now. However, we’ll keep the Redmi X name just because for the time being.

Lu Weibing, the General Manager of Redmi had spilled the tea on the device, mentioning that the upcoming smartphone will have a better name. He also mentioned that the device will feature a 3.5mm jack and NFC. On Weibo, a fan asked if the Redmi X would come with an ultrawide lens which he confirmed.

The upcoming phone has been speculated to have tech specs that include a 48MP (Sony IMX586) + 13MP + 8MP rear camera setup, similar to the Xiaomi Mi 9 SE. In addition, Twitter user @sudhanshu1414 shared that the smartphone may be released with GPU overclocking. Other than that, the device is also rumoured to have tech specs and features that include 6.39 inch display, 8GB RAM + 128GB / 256GB internal storage and a 32MP selfie camera housed in the pop up camera.

This upcoming Snapdragon 855 smartphone has been speculated to be revealed on the 14th of May with no in-display fingerprint reader.
