Remember the RM300 flight ticket subsidy? From 15 August onwards, you can apply for the FLYsiswa subsidy through these simple steps. So, what should you know about FLYsiswa?
Previously, we mentioned the flight subsidy and its applicable flight route. According to Malaysian Transport Minister, Anthony Loke, the subsidy is only valid for the purchase of one-way and return economy class flight tickets between the student’s place of origin and place of study. He also mentioned that the initiative costs the government around RM16.8 million and would benefit over 56000 IPTA students nationwide.

Additionally, if your ticket cost is lower than RM300, you can use the balance for the next flight ticket. The FLYsiswa voucher can only be used for Malaysia Airlines, Airasia, Batik Air, Firefly and MYAirline tickets. The deadline for this voucher redemption falls on 31 December 2023. Remember, you can still use the flight ticket subsidy even after the redemption ends on 31st December 2023.
Before you submit your application, you should check your eligibility through the Transport Ministry website. To do this, simply key in your IC number (MyKad) and your public university. Based on the MOT’s website, you should be eligible for the subsidy if you are registered for the academic year 2022/2023 as of 30th June 2023. Should you be ineligible, you can file an appeal through your university to the Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE).
