If you recall, it was rumoured that the new iPhone SE and iPad Air could be unveiled at an Apple event next month. But this spring event could have more than just these two devices. Sources claim that a new Mac mini could also be revealed at the launch.

The folks at Apple Insider have provided renders of what they believed to be the new Mac mini. It's expected to feature a redesign that gives it a plastic/plexiglass top, cooling vents at the bottom, and two rubber feet. On top of that, there won't be a plastic base anymore, so no more easy access to the internal components. Lastly, the new model could also have more USB-C ports and Apple's new magnetic power connector.

The removable bottom cover is gone, so do we still get access to the components?

In terms of specs, the new Mac mini will allegedly feature the M1 Pro and M1 Max chip. It should also have at least 8GB of RAM and 256GB of SSD storage. With that said, some of the above is a bit unrealistic. The new Mac mini is unlikely to have four USB-C ports in total, especially with Thunderbolt 4 and an HDMI port alongside it. The lack of an audio jack also strikes us as usual, considering that the mini PC is often used as a multimedia hub.

As for the launch date, some say it should launch later in the year, while others claim it could appear in Apple's Spring 2022 event. What do you think? Share your thoughts on the topic, and stay tuned to TechNave for the latest updates on Apple devices.
