Remember the renders of the Sony WH-1000XM5 that showed up earlier? Well, those might be accurate after all, as the headphones' packaging box appeared in the wild and showed the same design. However, it also proves us wrong on one of the speculated features, or maybe not.

The retail packaging box of the highly-anticipated headphones has the same thing we saw printed on it. It sports a thinner juncture between the headphones and the headband, with the earcups looking slightly larger than the ones on the predecessor. The colour scheme is basically the same as well.

However, the battery feature spotted on the box has some conflicts with the previous rumours. According to earlier report, the Sony WH-1000XM5 should bring 40 hours of battery life, but the box has a '30 hours' printed on it. Depsite that, the source assumes that the 30 hours could refer to how long the headphones can last when Sony's Hi-Res LDAC audio coding technology is enabled. Meanwhile, it would still last as long as 40 hours when the technology is turned off.
