Sony launched the WH-1000XM6 wireless headphones last year, offering new features and improvements for a higher price tag. Its earbuds counterpart didn't receive an upgrade last year, but we might be getting the Sony WF-1000XM6 soon.

Design revealed

First leaked by Reddit user u/Mr_Snail10, the Sony WF-1000XM6 was spotted on an electronics retail platform from Thailand. The page has since been removed, but TheWalkmanblog managed to capture some screenshots. Although the specs have not been confirmed, the screenshots do reveal the new model's design.

The WF-1000XM6 earbuds sport a pill-like shape, making them look distinctly different from the previous model. Sony also ditched the glossy plastic on the side of the earbuds for a unibody matte plastic body. In addition, each bud seems to have an extra external microphone, which should improve the active noise cancellation (ANC) feature. Even the case looks different - a flat top and bottom, with two round sides.

Price leaked

More interestingly, this leak also lets us estimate the price. Before the page was taken down, the retail price of the Sony WF-1000XM6 was listed as 11990 THB (Thai Baht). A direct conversion to MYR (Malaysian Ringgit) puts the price tag around RM1492.38. For reference, the Sony WF-1000XM5 launched for RM1399. We're expecting the new model to be within the sub-RM1500 range.

Possible launch soon?

These leaks are typically intentional, posted to draw attention and generate hype for an upcoming product launch. Think of it as a form of marketing, one that works because netizens love this type of "early access" to news. Considering that, the Sony WF-1000XM6 could be launching soon.

Of course, there's no official confirmation yet. But if Sony is already releasing 'leaks', are we looking at a February 2026 launch? Let us know what you think in the comments below, and stay tuned to TechNave for more news like this.
