We have been waiting for a refresh of the Apple MacBook Pro as the last model is getting long in the teeth. News of the refresh has been coming along, and now we may have a date to lock everything in – October 2016 is said to be the month where we will see the new Apple mobile workstation gets its upgrade.

We have been hearing that Apple will be employing a new touch panel on top of the keyboard to replace the current function keys. There have been patents and sketches of this nature, and a new photo of the chassis is actually supporting this rumour.

The same news also states that Apple is shifting to AMD’s Polaris graphic chips in the higher end models – 15 inch and above. The overall aesthetics  should be similar to the current MacBook Pro, but possibly with inclusions of new ports, such as USB Type-C. The important question is – will Apple take away the audio jack on this machine?
