Rumours: Samsung Galaxy Folder may come as Galaxy Golden

In a move which looks to revive the clamshell mobile phone form factor, Samsung are reportedly making a dual-screen clamshell flip phone which they may call the Samsung Galaxy Golden (perhaps in reference to the Golden age of clamshell-type mobile phones?). While it initially appeared as the Samsung Galaxy Folder and looked to be a dead prototype, it seems that the Samsung Galaxy Golden may actually arrive soon, perhaps for the South Korean market first. Tech specs for the Golden now include:

  • 1.7GHz dual-core Snapdragon 400 processor
  • 2x 3.7-inch AMOLED display (800 x 480 resolution)
  • 2GB RAM
  • 1820 mAh battery
  • Android 4.2.2

Other tech features include several cameras along with LTE support. The dual screens are actually located on the outside and inside of one part of the flip-phone while there is a standard numeric keypad on the other side. While such a design may have its nostalgia, we're thinking dual screens may mean even shorter battery life. However, this could change when or if the actual Golden comes out.
