While the new Samsung Galaxy S7 and Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge are rated with a high level of water and dust resistance, there are some who wants a little bit more protection against rugged usage. That is where the Active series comes in, and according to reports online, a new Samsung Galaxy S7 Active is on its way.

Pictures leaked online shows what looks to be a new model for the Active series, with its customary rubber grommet edges as well as the design that inspires the sense of ruggedness while using it. No idea of what the internals of the phones will be, but there is a chance that it will share specs with the S7/S7 edge family.

The phone also seems to feature a front fingerprint scanner – a first for the Active series. There are also pictures of the removable back over, with a built-in NFC antenna, suggesting that the phone will come with NFC capabilities, as well as possible removable battery. Also, the phone seems to be heading to the AT&T network, as the logo on the back of the device states.

We do not know if the new Active model will grace our shores – the last model that we saw locally was the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active. Once Samsung Malaysia shared any new info, we will share it with our readers.
