Move aside render leaks, we now have reports that the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 may be the first ever smartphone to be running with Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 836 processor.

US-based chipmaker Qualcomm has rumoured that the Snapdragon 836 will be coming in the second half of 2017. Which is around the same time that the Galaxy Note 8 will be coming out, see the connection? If this is indeed true, the Note 8 will be running slightly better than devices with the Snapdragon 835.

The Galaxy Note 8 is featured for its dual-camera setup and the direct upgrade from the rather unfortunate Galaxy Note 7. It is also expected to feature a 6.3-inch Super AMOLED QHD+ display and 6GB RAM. The Galaxy Note 8 is expected to be announced during IFA Berlin 2017, after that we can expect the Malaysian release to follow almost immediately.

As for the Snapdragon 836, its large cores are tipped to have a clock frequency of 2.5GHz, slightly higher than the 2.45GHz frequency of the SD 835 large cores.
