Rumours: There will be no Apple iPhone 7 this year

NewName.jpgThe headline caught your eyes right? There is a new report online that states while there will be a new update to the Apple iPhone model lineup slated for later this year, the name Apple iPhone 7 will not be used for that model – instead it will be a new name, akin to the Apple iPhone SE.

We should be expecting two new models – successors to the Apple iPhone 6S and the 6S Plus – coming soon to stores worldwide. However they may not be using the name that precedes the current model. The main reason is that they may want to save it for 2017’s model.

You may ask why they would want to do that – and the answer is simple: Next year is the 10th anniversary of the iPhone, and we may just see a major redesign of the smartphone. This is apart from the previously rumoured removal of certain ports, or the inclusion of dual-cameras. Stay tuned to TechNave for more news.
