Rumours: Xiaomi Redmi 4 coming to market soon?

While Xiaomi is branching out with non-core products for selected markets, they are steadfast in their focus on mobile. We have seen a couple of their latest products launched – the Xiaomi Mi 5, Redmi 3S and recently the Mi Max. Now a new leak has popped up online, as we feast our eyes on the possible Redmi 4.

Like the current Redmi 3, the Redmi 4 is said to feature a metal body, bit at the same time combines more design inspirations from other Xiaomi products. For example, the Redmi 4 looks to have 2.5D glass on the front, a fingerprint scanner at the back, and a curved body to make it comfortable in the hands.

The rumoured specs include an octa-core processor running at 2GHz (which we suspect is the Mediatek Helio P10), 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, possibly either an 8 or 10-megapixel rear camera and MIUI 8 out of the box.

If the specs are spot on, we may just see the cheapest mid-ranger smartphone to be released soon; that is if the pricetag of 699 yuan (~RM 498) is retained. Stay tuned to TechNave for more updates.
