Just last week, there was news that Samsung would be providing various brands like Google with ultra-thin glass (UTG). As many of you know, this is what Samsung uses for its foldable smartphones. It's solid proof that these brands aim to make such devices.

According to ETNews, Samsung Display will supply foldable OLED displays to Google, Xiaomi, and vivo. Samsung will be manufacturing a foldable 7.6-inch panel and 8-inch panel for the rumoured Google Pixel Fold and vivo's foldable phone, respectively. The vivo device is also expected to feature a secondary 6.5-inch external display from BOE.

Xiaomi's foldable device is probably the successor to the Mi Mix Fold released back in March. We still don't know the sizes of its two displays, but its main display should also be an 8-inch foldable panel by Samsung. As for the secondary display, it should be at least 6.5-inch from TCL CSOT. Anyway, Samsung plans to start mass production of all the above panels in October 2021.

If that's true, all of these rumoured foldable devices will probably not be launched in 2021. But we should get some news around the time of CES 2022. With that said, what do you think of the news? Are you looking forward to foldable devices from these brands? Let us know in the comments, and stay tuned to TechNave for more updates.
