Reports of the next Samsung flagship mobile chipset first appeared in August 2024. It was suggested the Galaxy S25 series would sport the Exynos 2500 chipset. But that didn't happen because of poor production yield. A source has now claimed Samsung is aiming for a 2H 2025 release.
According to an industry analyst, Samsung announced in its latest earnings call that it's optimising the Exynos 2500. The company is allegedly aiming for the new chipset to be available in mobile devices scheduled for release in 2H 2025. Samsung typically launches its flagship Galaxy Tab S tablets and Galaxy Z Flip or Z Fold devices in the second half of 2025. As such, it's reasonable to assume that the Exynos 2500 chipset could be intended for one of them.
The devices that could feature the Exynos 2500 chipset include the Galaxy Tab S11 tablet, Galaxy Z Flip 7, or whatever Fan Edition device Samsung plans to launch in 2025. Of course, this is merely my speculation since there's no conclusive information to indicate whether that's accurate.
As with previous Exynos chipsets, the onus is on Samsung to prove that the Exynos 2500 can compete with its MediaTek and Qualcomm counterparts. We're not holding our breath, but what do you think? Let us know in the comments below, and stay tuned to TechNave for more news like this.
