After releasing its 5th generation foldable smartphones, Samsung may put its attention to the mid-range segment, with a potential launch of the Samsung Galaxy M44 5G. This is after the device was spotted on Geekbench, which also showed off some of its specs.

First spotted by 91Mobiles, the benchmark listing showed a rather surprising choice of SoC by the tech giant: Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 (SD888). That’s an odd choice, especially for a mid-ranger by Samsung.

One possible explanation is that Samsung has a back catalogue of unused SD 888 SoCs lying around, which would also make sense of the SD 888-powered Galaxy S21 FE variant recently released in India.

Circling back to the Geekbench listing, it also shows that the Galaxy M44 5G has the model number SM-M446K with 6GB of RAM and runs on Android 13. The mid-ranger is expected to be released in India, with a global release may also follow.

Of course, do take this with a grain of salt as nothing is confirmed as of yet. As always, do stay tuned to TechNave for the latest tech news such as this.
