Previously, we mentioned how the Samsung Galaxy S24 could feature the latest Exynos SoC. A reliable source suggests the Ultra variant could feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. That said, what should you know about it?

Revegnus says the new chipset provides better power efficiency than Apple’s A17 Bionic SoC by 30%. In case you didn’t know, this is the same chipset used in the latest iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max. Plus, the Snapdragon chipset runs 4nm in contrast to Apple’s 3nm.

Despite being one generation older, the Snapdragon processor uses less power than the A17 Pro. In the tech industry, that is a big deal. It could also deliver performance improvements to the Galaxy S24. The same report says the “For Galaxy” version of the chip in the S24 Ultra scores more than 2300 for the single core and 7300 for multi-core tests on GeekBench 6.

Interestingly, Samsung says the global variant will use the Exynos 2400 chipset while the US variant could sport the Snapdragon processor. The company says the performance for both processors is equal. However, early test scores for the Exynos 2400 SoC on GeekBench do not reflect this, at least for now.

We have yet to confirm more details on Malaysia’s release or release dates. But, we could expect Samsung to make some improvements to the Exynos 2400 chipset given the previous tests. As of now, it looks likely that the global variant with the Exynos will make its way to Bolehland.
