Samsung Galaxy SmartTag2 Malaysia release - Available now, priced at RM149

Samsung has officially launched its Apple AirTag rival, the Samsung Galaxy SmartTag2 in Malaysia after its global launch earlier this month. Immediately available for purchase in our country, read on to find out more about the tracking device. 

Featuring improvements across the board compared to its predecessor, the Galaxy SmartTag2 has up to 700 days of battery life thanks to a new Power Saving Mode, with the Normal Mode promising 500 days of battery. It also has IP67 water and dust resistance for improved durability.

Besides that, a Lost Mode allows those with an NFC-capable smartphone to see who the Galaxy SmartTag2 belongs to, Meanwhile, Compass View provides both direction and distance information.

The tracker utilises Bluetooth Low Energy and a new Samsung Knox encrypted SmartThings Find app so you can find the SmartTag2 (and what it’s clipped to) just by using your camera.

Unknown tag alerts also notify you of unauthorised users tracking your SmartTag2. To use it, it needs a Samsung account log-in and an Android 11 or higher compatible Samsung Galaxy smartphone. 

It’s now available for purchase on Samsung Malaysia’s official website and authorised Samsung retailers for RM149. As of the time of writing, only the black variant is available for purchase, with the white version only available when buying the 4 Pack option, which is still not available on the website.
