Since the first foldable phone was launched, the displays would have a crease visible down the centre. It's the nature of foldable phones and probably can't be completely removed. However, Samsung could make it less bothersome with its next-gen Galaxy Z series.
According to a tipster, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 will have a smoother and more durable hinge. This hinge is allegedly good enough to make the Galaxy Z Fold 7's display crease "almost gone" but can still be felt in light. Samsung has steadily improved the hinge for its foldable devices over the years, so it's hard to tell how much it has improved based on the description. Nevertheless, we can look forward to a better viewing experience on these phones.
Besides the hinge, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 will feature a larger vapour chamber. The former is expected to sport a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, which does require more cooling to maintain performance stability. Additionally, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will have its speakers updated. As for the Galaxy Z Flip 7, it's rumoured it will pack the Exynos 2500 chipset instead.
Going back to the bit on the crease, this year's new generation of Galaxy Z foldable phones could use a new display that contributes to making the crease invisible. Of course, we can't confirm anything before seeing the phones later this year. Until then, stay tuned to TechNave for more updates.
